Technische Universität Berlin offers an open position:

Research Assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)

part-time employment may be possible

Working field:

  • Contribution to teaching, including the delivery of tutorials and practical classes and the supervision final theses
  • Research in the field of numerical fluid dynamics, with a particular focus on the investigation of turbulent boundary layers
  • Conducting numerical simulations and experimental work, developing simulation programs
  • Preparation of applications for third-party funding and scientific publications

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed scientific university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) preferably in Engineering Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Scientific Computing
  • Very good knowledge of one or several of the following areas: applied mathematics, fluid mechanics or numerical methods
  • Proficiency in programming
  • The ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the missing language skills.

Desirable (optional):

  • Experience in programming in Fortran or C/C++
  • Basic knowledge of parallel computing
