Research Assistant - 0.5 working time - salary grade 13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - for qualification

Your responsibility:

  • Assistance in teaching and research in biochemistry/biocatalysis
  • The focus of the research is to combine photocatalysis and biocatalysis, e.g. by creating hybrid proteins with novel cofactors or by applying cascade reactions where different types of catalysts are combined

Your profile:

  • Successfully completed scientific university studies (diploma, master or equivalent) in biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology, biology or similar
  • We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic about experimenting, enjoys problem solving and has a high degree of self-organization (desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience in cultivation (E. coli) and protein purification
  • Skills in instrumental analysis (e.g. GC, HPLC, NMR)
  • The ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills
  • Experience in the field of photo-or biocatalysis, molecular biology and genetic code engineering is an advantage
  • Knowledge and skills in molecular modeling is desirable
